Caring for your children, helping them to develop their own abilities and knowledge according to their individual needs and developmental level, is our main purpose in all we do at Enep’ut Children’s Center Childcare. We help each child reach their potential, no matter whether for preschool, infant, toddler, or school-age kids.

Ms. Shannan likes taking care of children. She is known for her creativity; she can think of a dozen ways to use or make an item, and she encourages the children to do the same. Ms. Shannan’s background is in childcare for the younger set (7 years) and also as a volunteer, Library Assistant, and literature and math lab tutor for Barnette Magnet School (2 years).
In her spare time, she continues to volunteer for Barnette, Ester Library, and International Order of Rainbow Girls. As a side note, Ms. Shannan and her nieces and nephews attended Enep’ut as children. That’s full circle!
I’ve spent a large chunk of my adult years in Fairbanks. My children happily attended Enep’ut in the late ’80s. We enjoyed the family atmosphere, a cultural mix, and some of the few male teachers in town. I’ve worked as an accountant for most of my life, but ten years ago decided to reinvent myself and went back to college in early childhood education. I’ve got a certificate from St. Louis Community College and almost completed an AAS degree from UAF CTC. I worked for about two years as an assistant teacher at FNA early head start and Thrivalaska in both the head start and school-age programs. I retired in the middle of 2018 when my grandson Crosby was born to stay home with him, and now, his younger brother Koa. I like to garden, run or walk, and get outside. I strongly support young children’s education and happy to work with Enep’ut to provide our family members’ quality experiences.
